Greetings all,

Last Saturday I left Arkansas to drive to Texas for a week….The trip was actually three-fold: (1) to visit with my wife’s parents and kinfolks, (2) had an appointment with a doctor in Lubbock about my ole sorry back trouble, and (3) to visit with Kent Shepherd!! So after the doctor thing, I was able to go see Kent on Thrusday. I met him at his woodworking store and we talked a little while he was trying to close up. I followed him home, and we went to his shop first…What a great shop!!!! I got the grand tour, and seen his layout and all the great tools, workbenches, and the infamous Torque machine. I didn’t get to see it “in action”, but what a machine. That puppy will do it all, and a good explanation by Kent on how it works…... Then we drove up to his house and picked up his wife, Diane, and went to dinner. We talked about everything, and since I’m actually from Lubbock too, we had a little in common. Kent and Diane were great host, and the visit was well worth the drive. I hope to get to visit again when I go back down someday…...... Thanks, Kent….!!!

Hi Rick. It was a great time for all of us. It was a treat to meet a fellow Lj face to face. I hope that happens often in the future. From our conversation you would think we had known each other forever. Amazing what a common bond like woodworking will do. I hope you come back to Lubbock often.

Of course all 18,000 of you are welcome here, especially if you buy our dinner like Rick did—LOL. Someday we’ll have a big Lumberjock bash here in Lubbock and see how many we can get to come.

No pictures…it didn’t happen! I would love to take more than a video tour of both of your shops. Sadly, I don’t see myself getting to that part of the country. Maybe some day.

Rick, I hope your back gets better.

Greetings Cory,
You’re right… no one will believe that I got to visit with Kent without pixs…. I was intending to take the camera, but forgot it, and I think most of the LJs has seen most of Kent’s shop anyway. With his blogs and project posts, he pretty well has it covered….... But.. you can believe I was there….. lol lol.

I hope my back does better, too. After getting 11 shots in it, I hoping for the best, and right now it feels pretty good, except for that long drive home yesterday….. it’s pretty tired….... Thanks for the nice comments on our shops.

Greetings poroskywood,

Not real sure I understand the question you are asking… I know who Jerry Jeff Walker is, but please explain your question…... I think I’m missing something here….. lol. Oh wait….. I took some drugs a little while ago for my back pain, and I’m a little fuzzy-headed and whoooooozy…...Boy, I sure like them drugs…. they knock that pain right out…....
