Yesterday I decided to tune up my table saw, its been a while.

I have the saw blade .002-.003 square to the miter slot and the fence kicked out .010 in the rear.

I was wondering is my saw blade square enough or should it be closer?

I try to get my blade 0.000” to 0.001” but would settle for 0.002” without much complaint. I tail my fence out between 0.002” and 0.005” at the rear. I don’t know for a fact that 0.010” will cause problems but I would think about bringing that one down a little myself.

I read somewhere that a person used a business card as a spacer to determine the distance from the rear of the fence to the blade. Even that might be too much. TomHintz’s reply makes a lot of sense.
