First discard fir to scrap pile, Second dig through scrap pile for piece of birch plywood. Birch is easy to match to maple if you don’t have any maple especially since there is a break in the pieces. If youre reading this Mr. Bondo I was not trying to be a smartass when I said I’m that damn good, hope you didn’t think I was going to try and match that fir I’m good not God, Ill get some better pics when its finished so far not bad for a 70 year old desk
