When I posted initially on this topic, I had just gotten this table saw through the free ads on Craig’s List. Hell of a find. It came minus the splitter and guard, which is what I was asking about in my post. Here are the pictures that I promised to post once I got the new arbor bearings installed. Besides that, the only thing that I’ve done is polish of a little bit of rust off of the table top.

-- When I go I want it to be like my Grandfather. Peacefully sound asleep. Not screaming in terror like the rest of the people in the car.

What a great deal. You have a very good saw, but someday a new fence would be an improvement. I bought a Delta 34-444 which is similar to yours for my son two years ago. It still has the same fence as yours, and he is very happy with it. The existing fence isn’t that bad, but a Unifence, Delta T2, or a Biesmeyer fence would be an improvement if you should ever want improved accuracy. For a splitter, consider getting the Micro Jig splitter. It doesn’t look like much, but it will do a great job and it’s easy to change when using narrow kerf blades, or to remove when a splitter isn’t required. If you want a true splitter along with a blade cover, look into a Shark Guard. They are expensive, but work very well and work well with their Grrippers too..

There isn’t much you can do to contain the sawdust on these saws, but they make a bag that attaches under the saw with snaps that will collect the heavier saw dust.
