Topic tags/keywords: teak children table

A friend of mine called me b/c he and his wife are looking to buy a teak outdoor table and use it inside for a play table and such…I told him that I didn’t know much about it being used indoors. I do however know about its resistance to rot b/c of its naturals oils. Is this safe for kids to be playing on and even eating on??

Also, what would be a good finish to use? Waterlox?

Yes, you can use teak wood for indoor furniture. With the right finish you can make a nice piece of furniture.
Just avoid to finish teak wood in a solid color, the oil inside the teak will bleed out and ruin the finishing looked.
You can view it in my web pages: Finishing for teak wood furniture
and Teak wood for furniture

Good luck
