Jim, your post is cryptic and needs further explanation. If you have knowledge of a threat, I would greatly appreciate a detailed post. Thanks in advance,
Jerry

Jimbo4, I assume you are referring to an ad you have seen.

(1) Not everyone sees the same ads so many of us had no clue what you were referring to.

(2) If you do not want to see a specific advertisement, there is an X in the upper right hand corner of each Google ad that offers more options, such as no longer seeing that specific ad.

Jerry – There is an add at the top of the LJ home page that states: (YOU HAVE 1 NEW MSG), and to click on an arrow to receive the msg. What it is doing is a SCAM. When you click on the arrow you get a long statement that your hard drive has been invaded by a TROJAN, and Mozilla cannot delete it. It goes further by giving a phone number (+888-8942), or to use your log-in identification to allow them to “fix” the problem. Plus, they are using a false Microsoft web site to access your computer.

Cricket – I did as you show in your answer, by clicking on the X and answering the Google questions. It was deleted by Google – but – when I changed forums it reappeared.

They (scammers) are getting crafty nowadays and entice us all to click in so many new ways.
I always feel I’m only one click away from having a big mess on my computer so my rule of thumb is, don’t be curious, don’t CLICK. , stick with what you know as being safe.
That goes for all the emails I get from, paypal, fedex, ups, apple, etc, etc.
