My wife would Like me to build this Potatoe and Onion box for her.
I found the plans on this one web page.
http://www.woodcraftplans.com/u797.htm
1. Does anyone know if they are a good web page?
2. Are they good Plans?
3. Do I want to Glue and nail gun? or screw?
4. We would like to beat up the wood and then torch it then polyurethane it. So what type of wood do I want? and beat it with a chain?

Thanks for your help
Dave

While I have never used their plans the do offer a satisfaction guarentee so if they are not acceptable you can send them back. I like using glue and the pocket screws for things like this, as everything seems to be squared butt joints. I wouldnt beat the project with a chain you’ll do more damage than just minor distressing I have used an old asphalt shingle and out the wood good face town on the shingle face and hit the back with a rubber hammer, this distresses without destroying

Hi Dave,

I’ve used their plans. You should be ok.

I would use pine myself with both glue and screws. Have fun, it should be a great project.
