Topic tags/keywords: picnic hello there fellow jocks, i want to address the picnic that is trying to be organized. Ive heard from many of my fellow jock friends who will not be able to come, but i need to hear from the jocks who will come. its going to be held on the last Saturday in may, and it will be held here at my home, i have a large area for us to gather and for any demonstrations that want to be given , we will have my shop to do so, i want you jocks to bring projects to show and share..so that you can talk of its build and share any techniques that would help someone who doesn’t know how to do it. i have volunteered to do the burgers and hot dogs and tatter salad…and would like those who come to bring some sort of pot luck dish or some sort of dessert. please respond if your planning on coming…i need to see if there is enough support to have this and plan from here on out, thank you for your help, i would like this to happen and have a wonderful time gathering, meeting and sharing our talents. thank you . grizzman….and as mentioned before, this is a no alcohol event. i am located in the middle of alabama, about 60 miles south of birmingham and about 40 north of montgomery, im about 6 miles off of I65. -- GRIZZMAN ...['''''] |

Would love to come but for the distance and the no-alcohol, friend. My Jack Daniel’s Pecan Pie I think is about 40proof. I’ll just have to eat it myself here in Oklahoma. Hope it’s fin. -- ~Just A Guy With A Hammer~ |

well this is intresting..ive had several comments of not wanting to come just because there is no booze…..i guess i was wrong in that folks would get together for the fun of wood working and meeting…maybe this wasnt a good idea…im going to give this one week..if folks dont want to come because of the booze factor, then it will just be canceled , im really disappointed by this…...maybe it wont be so. -- GRIZZMAN ...['''''] |

Griz, your party will be a lot of fun for all! Just go for it!!! I’m here in the great northwest & If I could make a trip like that I would ride my motorcycle. But that would be a 3 month discover America adventure. Booze isn’t a problem, it’s the distance for me. I can’t have parties so much any more after all the loud guitars last time! Sure was fun while it lasted tho. Just do it Buddy!!! You go Girl;) ;););) We Love Ya Griz!!! -- $tudie |

Grizz c’mon take a chill pill, I was funnin. You can have any kinda party ya want, duh. Here’s that recipe, and for the cooking ignorant the alcohol burns off during the cook leaving the flavors only. 3 large eggs, beaten -- ~Just A Guy With A Hammer~ |

Grizz, I wish I was a little closer. Booze-free works for me. (I thought only practicing alkies would turn down a party because there was not going to be any liquor.) -- Charlie M. "Woodworking - patience = firewood" |

Wish I could attend. Stick with the no alcohol rule this is meant to be a woodworking activity with food. It falls in the line of safety in the shop and on the road. Would hate to hear someone might be to impaired and hurt themselves at your event, or to drive and hurt someone or themselves. Not opposed to a drink or 2 in the shop after the work is done. Hope this works out, would love to see more of this type of activity for fellow woodworkers to get together to meet each other. Offering your home and shop for this event is very generous of you, and deserves the respect due to your generosity to host an unsponsored event. I do hope that you get enough people to attend would love to hear and see pics of how things went. -- I don't make mistakes, I have great learning lessons, Greg |

Griz: More power to ya! If you were to hold the meeting in the Winter I might be tempted to drive up from Gainesville Florida to join you. -- "Heaven is North of the Bridge" |

Grizz…...If I was closer I would come BECAUSE it is alcohol free. If the availability of alcohol is how someone makes a decision on which events to attend…......you really don’t want them there. Good luck. -- Don, Pittsburgh |

Abbott—with the gratuitous soft-core porn images, for the avatar—wrote: ”I couldn’t imagine having to listen to you sober and I hardly drink at all…but good luck with your picnic” Folks: if anybody else is getting a little tired of Abbott and his gratuitous mean-spiritedness, I IMPLORE you to reach out to Martin—either asking for “ignore user” functionality, or just that Abbott be dealt with. The last time I posted something like this, THREE LumberJocks—people I did NOT know—PM’d me with their support, and their thanks. Grizz has asked—respectfully—that the “girlie images” be left OUT, here. Personally, I’m not offended by them, but they add nothing. Consideration—in not posting these things, using profanity, taking the Lord’s name in vain, or … whatever—isn’t anything more than Kindergarten etiquette, and—IMHO—has ZERO downside. In the Real World, I’m quite the potty mouth. Asked ONCE, though, and I changed my tune. I don’t seek to offend my fellow LJ’s, and it has NOT caused me harm to be more INCLUSIVE, in the way I communicate, here. Having been asked, repeatedly, to self-censor, it’s clear to ME that Abbott has moved into the sadistic—gratuitously poking Grizz— one of MY favorite LumberJocks—because Grizz DOES find this sort of imagery to be offensive. That makes me a little mad. We don’t have proper tools, here to “self-police,” but … were I Martin … this one would be easy and swift. Grizz? I’m sorry that this gnat keeps circling you. He WILL get swatted, eventually—one way or the other. His kind usually do. “Drama?” Abbott? Is that the word you’ll use—again—for this ?? I defer to you. You DO seem to be the expert in that arena…. -- -- Neil |

Neil stop trying to play politics and gang tactics. I don’t have a problem with my avatar and if Martin does I will cheerfully change it, I change my avatars all of the time anyway. Grow up. Makita tools are some of the best tools going in my opinion, I own several of them and the photo of Lisa and Elizabeth is on the wall in my shop. -- Ohh mann...pancakes and boobies...I'll bet that's what Heaven is like! ♣ ♣ ♣ ♣ |
