Has anyone had any issues with the helical head upgrade on their DW735? I find it interesting that the planner has a 15amp motor, but on the Fine Woodworking podcast they claim that any helical head pulls 30 Amps. The receptacle fuse mine is connected to is a 20 Amp, and from time to time it does kick off so I’m sure Fine Woodworking is correct. Another issue I have is the nut and washer that attaches to the helical head recently fell off.

I tore it down and noticed that the chain was cutting into the metal piece that acts as a guide for the chain that raises and lowers the head. I fixed most of the issues, however as I tightened the nut back up the head began to spin and it becomes difficult to rotate the head for a moment and then frees back up. It is tough to turn at the same spot every rotation. I was just curious if anyone else had any issues with this modification.
