Why is it that I can buy true 1/4” veneered MDF A4, but if I want A1 it’s 5.2mm?

I’m building doors and my Freud tooling won’t cut a 5.2mm slot. I need two sided 1/4”
material and I can’t find it.

Why are the lumber companies doing this? I don’t get it.

Could you use a 3/16” slot cutter and make two passes?

Maybe but I don’t have one. The Freud set has worked well for door making.

The real question is what’s the point of doing 1/4” in A4 and 5.2mm in A1 and is there any supplier for 1/4” in A1?

Have your say...
