i’m doing some power carving and find that the discs are to large for tight contours and i hit the back of the disc on the piece.

is there any small solutions to: kutzall and or sanding flap wheels?
if i go smaller do i need to go to a drill instead?

You might take a look at the Guinevere sanding system. Or if going really small look at small drums on a Dremel tool.

I’m guessing since you mentioned discs that you may be using an angle grinder? You might look at a rotary shaft grinder.
