Topic tags/keywords: router table starter pin

I’m finally getting around to adding a starter pin to my router table. I’m not exactly sure where to drill the hole for the pin. Or, should I go ahead and drill more than one hole so that if the situation came up, I’d have it ready to go. Any suggestions?

Because it’s used when you don’t use a fence you can pretty much put it where you want to. I would think that the most versatile position would be somewhere on the right side of the bit as you face the table.

Thanks, but I kinda figured that. I was asking how far the pin should be from where the bit would be?

That is perfect sf. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
