Topic tags/keywords: question bandsaw veneering

I have a question about veneer. I have some sweet looking dogwood that has a lot of figure. The wood is green now, Do i wait for the wood to dry out then cut the veneer or can i cut the veneer while the log is green and let it dry and use. I don’t know what will happen if i cut the veneer green so im scared to ruin my bad azz log. Please help thanks in advance.

Cut the log into lumber, dry it, then resaw it into veneer, usually between 1/16”-1/8”.

let it dry before aiming at veneer. if its green it can crack easily in thin sheets or warp.
