I picked these up today. The guy first told me $250 a couple of months back, today $350. I said let’s split the difference. So I got the pair for $300. I’m thinking I did okay. I really didn’t do much research on these. Ya’ll give me your honest opinions. I can take it.

The current version of that abrasive blast cabinet runs $199.00 at Harbor Freight, you can apply a 20% off coupon on it to get it for $160.00.

So you paid $140.00 for a used 1HP Jet dust collector.

The ccurrent model of that Jet dust collector goes for $349.99. So not a bad deal…

So let’s see, $300.00 for used equipment that can be had new for $489.00

Not a bad deal, but a bit more than I would have been wanting to go…

I don’t ever pay higher than 50% of a used tools new street value unless there was something special about it. I would have held firm at $240.00, but that’s just me.

Yes!

Just the dust collector was worth it! :)

You did GOOD! IMHO!

So with taxes and not on sale you would have spent about $590.00. Things never seem to be on sale when I want to buy them so I will stick with that figure and say you payed 51 percent of the retail cost. They look to be in good shape. A dust collector and a sandblasting cabinet are certainly things you can use. At least, they are things I could use. I would say you gave the guy you bought them from a fair price and you should both be happy with the exchange.

Great additions to your shop. I always wanted a sand blast cabinet and I have a scale that needs one right now. You did good, but I think I would have pressed him for that original price, too!

Cheers, Jim

Nice buy. I have a DC – and I would love to have a sand blaster.

Yeah, I know I’m pretty satisfied. My son and I will get a good deal of use out of it. I’ve got a ton of hand planes to clean up and sell. Hopefully I’ll make enough off them to pay for this deal.

Like the majority has said I think you got a good deal. I mean sometimes when I am not sure if the deal is worth it I question and put into the equation my time. If you buy new its either delivered and usually has no problems vs used, yes I know hard cash I am getting a OK deal but how much of my time is being used to go out look at the thing then haul it back. Overall pretty good deal.
