Can anyone tell me if when you make a donation to LJ’s is this a reoccurring donation every year? My PayPay account was hit on the 23thd and one of the charges were from here at LJ and I could have sworn I did a one time only donation not to be repeated every year. I sent an email to Martin but have not got an answer and I want to act as fast as I can.
On a second note I have had it with PayPal I have only had to file 2 disputes since using them and both times they said no! I ended up filing the disputes with my credit card holder and they made it right. After this I am canceling my PP account.

Hi sandhill, there are two sets of options on the donations page. Onetime as well as monthly donations. Did you proceed with onetime option?

I will check the paypal records tomorrow.

I did a donation a year or more ago but nothing since. Pretty fishy huh? I have canceled all my business account that I was using with PP and reported the other account card Lost or stolen. I hope this don’t mess you up.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Paypal. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Thats going strong now since 2004. I hear all the horror stories though, i guess I”m lucky.

I had trouble before with them as well. I ended up having to go the the credit card company to get my money back. I guess if you use it only to receive money its better then having to get an account with a merchant card but I use to used it to shop and buy on line a lot, Christmas, birthdays I probably used it for 200 transactions a year but no more. I hope you never have any trouble with them Its just I feel I am the customer and they need to make me happy not like I did something wrong.

I have a PayPal account and have not as yet had any problems.

However after “Googling” “PayPal Problems” I’d say that at Least 80% of the problems shown, were with eBay. The fact that PayPal is Owned by eBay might or might not have something to do with it???

Usually I use them because they pop up on whatever site I’m buying from. My Personal Preference is to use a Credit Card. I think “Disputes” get handled much faster that way. Just my opinion though.

Your 100% right Rick PP does not do a good job in in settling disputes I think they tend to favor the merchants because that’s were there money comes from.

Well PayPal would not have any part of the fraudulent charges but I must say all the merchants were up standing and a credit to there profession all funds had been returned to me after I wrote them all and explained what had happened. I will still close my PayPal account because of there unwillingness to help me get this resolved plus I just don’t feel safe using there system after all they are still an eBay Co. which I do not and will never use.
