Topic tags/keywords: question oak refurbishing

I have the opportunity to trade work for 1300 bd ft of oak 2×4s. its a dismantled wine storage tank. the planks are fairly straight. im trying to come up with a price. I have now idea what this would be worth. does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Call your local lumber supplier and get their 1000 bd ft price for 8/4 oak and offer them half that. Then make products to sell using the “reclaimed wood” angle and mark the material up 400%. People love anything made from “reclaimed wood”, especially when it comes with a story like an old wine storage tank. You could also probably resale the lumber for a premium on Craigs List and recover your cost for the 1300 bd ft and still have two thirds left for projects. There are a lot of possibilities here.
