Topic tags/keywords: hand plane plane stanley rabbet plane

Hi, I am looking at a rabbet plane that a guy wants to sell me. It is a small rabbet plane, and he tells me it is “unmarked”. By the pictures, it looks just like a Stanley #75 rabbet plane. I have seen other pictures of #75s and they all have a sticker on the back, right where your palm would be. I can see this falling off in about a weeks time. My question is: Are the #75s marked in any other way to identify them as a stanley?

No number cast into mine. Should be a marking on the blade indicating it’s a Stanley. HTH

No blade. Any other distinguishing characteristics?

http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan10.htm This link should tell you everything. HTH.

Scroll down to about the middle of the page. This site will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Stanley planes, and a few things you probably didn’t want to know.
