Topic tags/keywords: clamps bessey jet amazon gloat sale deal

I’ve been wanting to start phasing out my generic clamps for ones that don’t require a fight to be effective. I recognize after setting up shop 2 years ago that clamp quality effects projects as much as many tools. I like the Bessey and Jet parallel clamps as they have gotten good reviews from a few sources. I’ve seen both the Jet and Bessey “4 pack w/ set up blocks” for $130 on Amazon. Amazon puts the retail value @ $230. I normally am not big on posting deals or gloats, but this seems to be a considerably better than average discount. Hope they find their way under my tree.

They also have the larger set of 4 on sale packaged with the small set listed above. $270 for both which is 8 clamps and blocks.

Hi Jeff,

That is a good deal. I generally get my Bessey clamps at Lowe’s because I have not found anyone to beat their price but this deal does. Just the two 24” and two 40” clamps would run you about $150 at Lowe’s. Not only are you getting the KP block set essentially for free but you are saving about $20.00 as well. GO FOR IT since you never have enough clamps in the workshop.

I have to echo sbryan55: there’s no such thing as too many (or even enough) clamps.

Iv’e seen that also, I have no parallel clamps and was looking at the Jet for that price only free shipping!
Can’t beat that price, The reviews I read say the jet clamps are a little better.
Good thing about Lowe’s is you can buy one at a time over a period of time and build up a matched set without breaking the bank.

These seem like a good deal. Two 24: and two 31” parallel clamps for $99.99. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=5903&homepagedeal=true Manufactured for WoodCraft by Bessy.

Yeah, the reviews I read had the Jets as the best bet. The Bessey’s were close. All the others except for the Harbor Freights were pretty even. The Woodcrafts gbvinc posted fell in the middle. I thikn that any of the top half would do the job. Maybe not.

Unless I am misreading this
Amazon is offering 4 Jet parallel clamps for $99. I have 3 pair of the Jets and love them.

I have both the Bessy and the Woodcraft made by Bessy and like them both a lot. The Woodcraft ones have plastic handles and don’t seem to be as flat on the clamping face though. I also have some of the Jorgensen bar clamps that are pretty good.

molarman, they are $99, if you also apply for an Amazon.com Visa card. Ok, if you need one I suppose.

It is a great deal. You don’t see these prices often anymore. I personally like the Jet clamps as their mechanism will keep the adjustable claw from moving unless YOU want it to. Bessey’s don’t have that locking function but for the price I would buy some for sure.

Another thing to keep an eye out for on Amazon is a kit of Bessey Tradesmen F-style clamps. These are my goto clamps and you get 30 clamps ranging from 6” to 48” with more of the most commonly used sizes. The price I paid in March was $250. I priced them out separately from a local supplier’s catalog and they were over $360 for the same items. Currently, they are priced at $320 but I have seen them at the $250 price one other time this year.

Just like molarman I got my two sets, at different times, for $99.00. Both from Rockler when they were having a sale.

Happened to walk into Rockler and saw they were running an in store sale on a set of Irwin 24” and 48” paralllel clamps. They were identified as being a new product. The in store price was an enticing $97.

The few reviews I have found have been pretty good. Wanted to know if anyone has them and their thoughts on them vs other leading brands (Jet, Bessey, Jorgensen, etc)?

Does anyone have any info on the Irwin Parallel Clamps?
