Hello
I found this little level in a box of allsorts. I’ve not been able to find another example but not knowing what to put in for search terms may be the issue. Don’t think it a string level. I’m thinking it clips on to something, like maybe a framing square or something.

No marks except for Pat. Applied for.

Any info appreciated.

When I started working one of the old paper hangers had one of these. He used it clipped on to a folding rule to layout his starting point for hanging wall paper in a room. I think he called it a Stencilers level. Don’t know if that’s right as this is only the second one I’ve ever seen.

Doing a little searching since I posted. Found a listing for a New product listed as a stencil level, but can’t find any other level like yours. Maybe someone that collects levels can jump in here and educate both of us.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds very possible. I probably came across the same searches you did after I read your post. It’s a pretty elusive item to find anything on or like it. The only thing it had in common with other items in the auction box was they were all pretty old.
