I had some oak left over from a step stool I just made. I used it to make 2 inserts for the miter saw. One for 90* and the other for bevels. They came out pretty good. Just sanded a little and shellacked them. I put a 1” hole at the end because I noticed saw dust getting trapped under the zero clearance insert. Easier to hang up when not in use also.
The original plastic one was a two piece with 6 screws. I actually only need 2 screws at most, to hold down the inserts. Easier swapping them out.

Very nice! I have been thinking of doing that for my sliding miter saw. You have encouraged me to finally do it.

Thanks guys. I saw Jon Peters on youtube make one for his saw. I’ve never really thought about it for a miter saw.

Is that the 12” Bosch?
Will you make a zero clearance insert for me … huh, huh?

Seriously, I gotta get that done! Nice work.

Hahaha. Thanks. It’s a GCM12SD axial glide Bosch. I don’t think it’d be very cost effective to send you one. lol
