I love Mesquite! Turned with all carbide tools. A flat square rougher and a 8mm Shear round, sanded to 5 grit with BLO and finished with French Polish. 1” dia and 3.5” high. It has some little eyes in spots that really shine.

Pretty good job there Jack. Mesquite is a darn good wood to turn and it’s pretty stable also. It’s a shame there isn’t any feather in it. I’ve always chased feather in Mesquite crotch wood, but have never caught up to it. It’s elusive.

Now, with a 1” od, and a 3.5” tall piece, wouldn’t that be a vaahzz or would that be a vaaahse. I know it’s not a vase because it’s not tall enough to be one. hehehe.
