there are so many variants relating to your rants.
1. photos – some members are more tech savvy than others, some have difficulties posting at all, other’s don’t really know their way around pictures, some only like 1 picture of all those they took of a certain project, and some don’t think their projects are good enough to post, and find a very specific angle that will be acceptable… and others… well ,the list never ends.
just take what you can from a post, if you like it – good, if you want to see more – by all means, post a comment asking to see ‘details A’ and ‘detail B’ – if they can- I’m sure most people would be happy to see interest in their posts and add more info as it goes. if you don’t like a certain project, and can’t get what you want out of it – move on to the next one. at least people are posting
2. as for prices – some people get stuff used/craigslist/ebay/on sale/else – in which case price is not applicable. the review here is more for performance, kinks, and stuff like that. if you are doing research for your next purchase and already researching a certain tool – you can check for pricing on several online suppliers, not only will this give you an option to find the best price, this will also show you the price TODAY, as opposed to what the price was when Joe-lumberjock did his review – 3 years ago.
however – I would like to see people post reviews several months AFTER they have purchased the item and actually used it, and not while they are still unpacking it… lol
Peace :)
