$3,350 OBO – My CNC router will be here soon and I really need the space – please come get this!
Variable speed Oliver wood lathe, 8’ bed, Model 159-A, made in 1948. Very heavy! Runs great but it is 3 phase and I don’t have that available. Since I can’t run it I need to get rid of it. Total length is 10’ and is a little over 8’ between centers. Comes with many face plates, 5’ long tool rest, steady rest, outboard tool rest mounted on heavy wheel from tractor trailer rig, and other accessories (see photos).
I had this lathe in my woodworking business in the mid 80’s to early 90’s and when I shut that down I brought it to the house thinking I would one day either get 3 phase or a converter, neither of which has happened. But now I’m building acoustic guitars in my small two-car garage and I need the space. So somebody please take this beast and start using it again! The last job I did on this was turning five 8’ long x 12” diameter Honduras Mahogany columns for a customer in town, then I disconnected it and moved it.
Oh, and you’ll have to come get it – bring several large friends!
