different kreg screw head??

I know the uses for the different thread patterns but what is the difference between the head types, one is like a rounded top and the other looks like its the smae thickness all the way up and is flat top and bottom. The one in this picture on the left is the one I’m wondering about. Thanks Pat

If you click the link “screw selection chart” I think that will explain it. It sounds like one is designed for use with 1/2 ” material.

You couldn’t use 1 1/2 screws on 1/2 materiel???? I’m back to being confused
