I just bought a Milwaukee 5625 3 1/2 hp router, appears to have very minimal use and is in like new condition. It comes with 2 sub bases and a T wrench for above the table adjustments. I bought it off of CL for 60.00. WOWOWOWOWOWOWEEEEEEEEEEE.

I am a strong advocate of finding great deals on CL and this is really just one of many. This router is barely broken in and has me very excited. The router feels very well built and feels very substantial in my hand. I have a collection of PC 690 routers, one 2 1/4 hp Hitatch, one 2 1/4 Frued (mounted in a table) but I honestly have never owned a router this strong at 3 1/2 hp. This router, while it feels heavy, still feels light enough to be considered a decent hand held router. I actually use my 3 hp shaper for any heavy duty stuff. So I am not even sure I will have a good use for it. But I always say, if the deal is this good, buy now, think later… LOL

I actually stockpile 1 3/4 and 2 1/4 hp routers because they are so useful around the shop for handheld stuff. The listing did not specify which router this was so I was mainly calling looking to pick up the popular 1 3/4 hp milwaukee or maybe the 2 1/4, but when he said 3 1/2 hp, I was surprised.

Well, all excitement aside, after giving this some thought, I am leaning towards blessing a close friend of mine with the router. Just recently he hooked me up with a very nice PC 3 nail gun set, that usually goes for 190.00 new. So maybe I can get him back this way. Anyway, any suggestions are welcome.

Happy Woodworking,

These deals come around, I guess we are in a good location. This fella has been having some difficult times with less work available he was telling me so he parted with this router.

In my totally uneducated opinion, this may be the BEST table router there is.

Keep it, and give him one of your others ???

I LOVE my 5625:

I’m quite sure it would route dovetails in the space shuttle.

yeah, I am excited to play with it some. Although I do not have much at this time to do with it. I did however plug it in and turned it on and motor tripped my breaker. I was in my bedroom, lights on and tv blaring when I put it the test and so the 15 amp motor tripped the breaker. Oh, and it seems much quieter then my other smaller routers. Recently I dovetailed a slew of solid maple drawers with a 690 and the process was slower because of going through solid maple made the 690 labor more then usual. I bet this router would make light work of dovetailing solid maple and the weight of the router in hand would be no big deal because my Akeda jig holds all of the weight of the router. Hmmmm, just something to think about.
