Topic tags/keywords: box hinge crooked question tip Why is it that everytime I hang a box lid with hinges it comes out #*%@ crooked?!? I know there has GOT to be a better way to get it straight! HELP ME UNDERSTAND! -- If you don't work, you don't eat!.....Garland, TX |

Mortised in Butt Hinges? Use a little 5 minute epoxy to stick the hinges in place before screwing them down. Not enough to make a mess but enought to tack the hinge leaves to the mortises. Get the box top aligned and hold it there ‘til the glue hardens. Gently open it and drill and install the screws. -- Michael Murphy, Woodland, CA. |
