I’m seeing a great deal of negative comments on this fence on the inter webs.

Is the handle lockdown really as crummy as they say?

Is the construction shoddy, whereas the fence sides are not plumb or parallel to each other?

I guess I have nothing to lose if I buy it from HD, but would appreciate any feedback again prior to my purchase for a Ridgid R4512 fence upgrade.

The trouble with the internet is you don’t know the person leaving the review. 1000x in my life someone has told me that some thing is broken, bent, doesn’t work, crooked, won’t fit, missing parts, etc. and I look at it and solve the problem in a few seconds. Some people are knuckleheads and blame the product and sometimes the product is cheaply made and quality is inconsistent, you just don’t know. A pallet of the product might have been dropped in the warehouse and spawn several bad reviews of bent pieces, etc. Wish I could be more help. I guess my point is you might have to take a chance.

Incra LS-III precision rip fence & M1000 miter gauge will solve your issues forever. Every cut is a precise 1/32” +-0.005” multiple.

The vast majority of comments that I’ve read here and on other wwing forums from owners is quite positive. The T2 that I had here was a really nice fence. I have read a couple of comments about the faces not being perfectly flat, but the pics I’ve seen really shouldn’t amount to any problems in use. I’ve heard nothing bad about the handle lockdown being a problem. I’ve read a couple of isolated quality or damage issues that were dealt with by Delta and/or the supplier. It’s very possible that I’ve missed some true issues, but most of what I read puts this fence as the best bang for the buck out there. It’s not an Incra or a commercial Biesemeyer but it should be a nice upgrade from the stock R4512 fence.
