Topic tags/keywords: log cherry timber

I’ve got to sell off a stack of cherry wood. 8 to 10 foot lengths, mainly 2 foot diameters. Anybody interested?

They’re 8 to 10 foot logs. I’ll get pics when I get home this evening and post.

I signed that I’m in Michigan….hour NW of Detroit.

Prices? ah – taking offers.

you will likely get a much better price if you hired a portable mill to have those sawn up into lumber.

If I was closer, ................sigh !

Jeez guys – if I knew a portable mill in my area, I might go that route first. Sounds from what I’ve read, it could be expensive with what I’ve got. Anybody got a lead for a portable mill or service/club in my area I could inquire? I live in southeastern Michigan. Thanks for any guidance.

Hey Mike,

Not sure if you already googled it but here is what I found and hopefully it can help you. Its a large list of sawmills/portable mills and locations/phone #’s in SE Michigan I hope this helps. http://semircd.org/ash/news/SEMIRCDsawmills.pdf

I have a portable mill but it is a little to far for me to go. I live in the upper thumb. You can call Woodmizer and they can tell you if anyone has a mill in your area. I charge .25 a BF to mill.

Sure wish I was near to that area. I have a friend that has a niice mill – but he is in WA. I would buy some of the cut boards though if you find a miller….Boards could be shipped…logs….whew….would cost a fortune.

I know a guy up here in pt huron that would probably do it for about 40 bucks a log…seeing as they aren’t really that big. Let me know if your interested, and I’ll get his info for you. Can’t go wrong with cherry logs!
