I’m planning on building the thinckness sander from Shop Notes #86 with soime modifcations. It’s a 16 wide sander, planning on keeping that the same. The sander in this issue of Shop Notes uses a table saw to drive the sander. I want to build it as a stand alone, using it’s own motor. Any thoughts on what HP would be recommended. I was thinking 3/4 hp.

Let me know any thoughs you have. I have an old satalite positioning motor to use to drive the conveyor.
