I just bought a Powermatic PM2000 and i want to get a rout r lift to go on the side but it doesnt look to have a miter slot. If you are the fortunate owners of this animal, is the router lift a good machine? Is it okay without the miter slots? What is yuor overall thougths?
Thank you sooo much
I had the Rout-R-Lift in my PM2000 for a long time before I went to a new table. The Rout-R-Lift is a good piece (made by JessEm) and worked fine. I never felt lacking for the miter slot but I have a full router table in the shop also. Whenever I needed guidance for the router I would use the the PM2000 fence or a clamp-on fence and never had an issue with that.
I am using the Jessem lift on my powermatic and I still pretty steamed that they never made provisions for a mitre slot. Now there are so many things that it can't do. The fence that it came with was pretty cheesey as well! Has anyone ever modified one of these ?
Mike
