Topic tags/keywords: cl1 belt pulley wheel spindle shaft drive record lathe

Hello Everyone
I really need help with my CL1.
Been pleased with it so far BUT i would like to change the belt but cannot get the headstock spindle to move so I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. It seems to be locked rigid although we are afraid to hit it too hard in case we break the cast iron casing. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone changed the belt and if so how on earth did you do it?
Hope someone can help me out – it is sooooo frustrating!

Maybe there’s a locking device somewhere and you unloosen a bolt to be

able to lift the motor, or something on that order.

Email them and good luck

Not familiar with that lathe but other lathes I owned needed persuasion from a mallet.
