My Delta 36-725 is in my garage. When I open the garage door my saw is directly underneath it. If it has been raining sometimes a little water drips from the door on the saw but I have always been careful to either not open it when raining or dry it off immediately. Well, apparently I forgot one time and now I have these little kinda rust colored water spots. The surface is still smooth but I wasn’t able to wipe the spots off.

Any ideas?
Thanks,

Happens to me all the time. I usually spray a little WD40 on it and then hit it with a green Scothbrite pad.

Then some Boeshield or even paste wax. Just make sure you get ALL the WD 40 off the table. Getting that on your wood can ruin the finish.

Don’t worry about. It’s just a piece of cast iron…. It’ll recover if you use it like it was designed to be used. .......... Jerry (in Tucson)

I like mineral spirits over wd40 for cleaning with the scothbrite pad.

After it’s clean. BOESHIELD. Really. I was futzing with my top for 6 months and then put a layer of boeshield on and forgot about it. Paste wax doesn’t come close.

Have your say...
