We have been seeing some outstanding wood models built by members “down under” and some stateside. This is an area that is of much interest. Maybe we could have a forum that covers model making.

I k make “toys” not models.

There are some shown on this site that are MUSEUM QUALITY!

I think Ron is correct; although, I will never post in it!

I agree. That’s a good idea. Some of those models are amazing.

I’m not a toy maker but I agree with the OP. It’s in a class by itself and needs it’s own forum.
It might would also produce more interested in toy making.

Being a long time model maker which is how I got into woodworking years ago, I would love to see a forum for that!

I agree with bruc101; they are in a class all by themselves. The only restriction I would have is; the models must be made of wood. Plastic kits would not be welcome. We would have to distinguish between a “model” and a toy.

Adding another comment! I think they are not toys; unless you would actually let a kid PLAY with them!

Many very fine models on this site are called toys!

I also agree the forum should be limited to WOOD as it is not plastic manipulation specialties!

Sounds like a good idea to me. I also started building models (flying models) before doing any other woodworking.
