Hi, I’ve got a Harbor Freight Lathe (34706) and I’ve lost the point for the live centre. It fell out while I was turning a bowl and it got swept up with the shavings. I’m hoping someone has an extra one that they would be willing to sell. I know it’s a long shot but I thought I’d ask.

I’d just make a new point for it.. but not everyone has that capability. Doubt you will be able to find a direct replacement sold individually, so your next best bet is to purchase a new MT2 live center. The HF one is about $20. Unfortunately, it’s probably not stocked at your local store, so will have to be ordered through the web and shipped. Or you could take the opportunity to upgrade to a quick change system like the Nova (teknatool).

Cheers,
Brad

That lathe takes a standard #2 Morse taper center, available from any shop supplier, such as Enco, Grizzly, MSC, McMaster-Carr, etc.

That’s the same center I purchased for my HF lathe. I had forgotten where I got it, but it was PennState.

Thanks everyone. One just appeared on my local kijiji (Canadian cragislist). Turns out it will be a bit cheaper.
