I hit a swap meet the other day and picked up a Block plane and a Stanley 41 hand drill for $1.00 each.

the plane iron is a Sargent USA , so im guessing its a type II However there are no markings on the body at all, except for some initials, I was also thinking maybe a 208 but , no markings at all…

was wondering if this is just a Franken Plane.

The #208 didn’t come out until 1910, so that is probably a type 1. That logo was only used until about 1909. If it’s original, its a very early #208.

There is really no way to tell, they didn’t mark the bodies, so let’s just go with it. Can’t prove it right, but can’t prove it wrong either.

Nice find!
