Am I crazy or is there a shortage of decent aftermarket fences? I remember the Delta T2 being around $125 last time I looked (a while back), but it’s over $200 now and I’ve read several people reporting serious quality control issues and no support available from Delta (here and in the borg reviews).

The Vega U26 is almost $300. Amazon doesn’t have the Vega Pro in stock. The Grizzly Shop Fox classic is $338 shipped. The Incra LS32 is over $500 (obviously a lot more going on there than just a fence that locks straight).

Is there not a decent fence available under $200? Am I just cheap/old or is the price of entry really $300 and up these days for a reason??

I paid over $300 for a Vega Pro over 20 years ago. It cost more than the Craftsman I put it on, and was worth every penny.

Your confidence is inspiring, it’s hard for me to make decisions like this in the vacuum of my limited experience. Thanks! : )

I’m with you. My Shop Fox Classic is a a great fence, but technologically, it is very simple iron and hard to believe it costs more than a tenth of it list price to manufacture.

Bought it and love it better than any biesemeyer fence I’ve ever used and the extruded aluminum is infinitely customizable.

I bought a close out Ridgid AC1036 aluminum fence for $50 years ago and put it on my old Craftsman. Best money I ever spent.

It’s a clone of the Craftsman align a rip aluminum fences. Works great, and holds it settings.

I’d check EBay. Lots old fences like that on there, before I bought anywhere else.

Good saws come with good fences.

Its the main reason I dumped my old 60’s model C’man years ago and upgraded.

Check on eBay. Several years ago I purchased a Vega Pro 40 off eBay for under $200. The shipping container had been damaged in shipping and returned. All parts inside were pristine. Deals are still available but you must have patience.

The topic of this thread is wrong… there certainly is no shortage of good fences.

Cheers,
