I attacked the garage yesterday and in the very back corner the last thing we pulled down was this under a pile of sheet meta was this clamp. The old owner of this house had a pile of junk wood in the attic of the garage.
How old is this thing.
All wood with a nice mortise tenon joint on the screw end. No hardware on the joint so the joint slides apart. Metal strap held in by either a long rivet or two nails. I believe it’s some kind of a rivet though I don’t see how two nails would not give the support needed under pressure.
I think i’m going to dust it off and hang it in the house. Main spar is 30”
