Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw

Just wondering if ne one had a suggestion for what brand to go with for a hybrid table saw? I have the craftsman 21833 right now but I’m looking for something a step up from that. I have approx 1000 dollars can go a little more but so far leaning towards the grizzly G0631. Ne one have some input to lead me in the proper direction? Thanks!!

I’d suggest that you buy the saw, and not the brand. There are excellent and poor examples from just about every major brand. Check each model out on it’s own merit.

What are you going to cut with a Grizzly G0631?

Grizzly has some really nice saws. I really like their new models with riving knives and upgraded dust collection.

You may be happier with a cabinet saw. If you haven’t yet read older posts on this topic please do so before making your decision. There’s probably 25 different forum posts on the topic of table saws here to read that may be helpful to your decision.
As you’ll read from a lot of LJ’s, to save a lot of money go used. Check out what deals are on Craigslist in your area.

The G0691 would be a sweet upgrade IMHO…full blown industrial cabinet saw with riving knife!

You’d be getting into this:

From something like this:

Plus you’ll get a lot nicer fence and significant power increase.

As far as hybrids go, I love my Jet Proshop. The only issue I see is the lack of riving knife. The 691 you mention is a 3 HP 220v cabinet saw that is $1450 shipped. This I am sure blow away my saw but you had initially asked about hybrids in the $1K range. Good luck with whatever you decide.
