I just got a new carbide mortiser bit for my Powermatic mortiser. It cuts well, but I am getting a scalloped edge on one side of the mortise from the round bit. It is minor but, noticeable.
Any thoughts? The bit is from Woodcraft, and cost around $100.

Is the bit hanging down past the chisel too far? Just a random thought.

I thought of that, it does not seem to make much difference if I adjust that setting.

Have your say...
