How difficult is it to replace, and to find a replacement for, a cast iron band saw table?
I have an opportunity to pick up a good older model 14” saw in perfect working order, with one exception: The cast iron table is broken.

I’ve seen, most recently on Rockler’s site, band saw tables made of melamine or some other plastic laminate over MDF substrate type design but I’m assuming those are meant to be mounted to a standard cast iron table and, by themselves, would present issues with flatness.

Anyone have sources or opinions? $50 for the saw is great as long as the cost and effort of replacing the table isn’t going to be exorbitant.

Thanks as always for any advice you can spare!

-- We may never know who let the dogs out, but I'd bet anything PETA was involved.
