Topic tags/keywords: projects plans

Well guys i was just wondering if some of us here on LJ those of us who are close or live near eachother, i just wanted to see if peoples wanted to team up and do a project and the project can be anything just as long as it’s affordable, basic tool doable, and everyone on the team agrees to it? Then we can take the build and either sell it, or donate it and if it’s sold the funds either go to a charity or back to LJ. Please give any input you have neg. or positive, i know i’m putting my foot in my mouth by adding the neg. but it’s all good just not to neg. please.

Me i’m scared at just the fact of haveing to do a project with other woodworkers, all the questions are running through my head already what if my skillz ain’t up to par, what if i’m too lazy, stuff like that. I don’t think to many people live near me anyway, i do know there’s one other person who lives in watertown forget his name though. Well let me know what you guys think? ;)

Great idea, you’ll learn from each other.

I read your title and thought you did wood working with your wife. I was like WHAT???!? :)
Heh.
If I were to do a project with someone else they would run away, screaming, from my complete lack of other words “pickyness”. I just… go. I sketch and go. No plans, and little actual planning :) And usually change things on the fly. But it all works out.

I like the idea. We need to find how close we are to others and see what flies. I’ve done a couple of projects with a few guys before and dang if it doesn’t go smooth and more fun because of the camaraderie (glad I have spell check, I was way off) ;0) . I always learn new ways of doing things too. Anyways, I live near Galt, CA and like the idea of donating a group project. Let’s do it!

I’m up for it. I’d like to do a project from start to finish with another LumberJock, sell it and use the money to get each of us a LumberJocks shirt or hat. That way, the build could be fun, somebody would pick up a nice piece for their home or office, we would get a shirt or hat and money would still go towards the website.

I’ve already got a project in mind and I am open to suggestions if any of the Southeast Michiganders are willing to give it a shot.
