so, I’m doing okay with my cheapie Summit HVLP system, but I’m going to upgrade at some point. On Craigslist is a used Graco 4900 with hose, but no spray gun for $125. I think the complete system sold new for $900 or so (not totally sure).

Two questions:
1) guy is asking $125 for used turbine with hose, no gun. I was thinking of offering $50 or 75. Thoughts?
2) What gun would you recommend to go along with it.

My understanding is that the more stages the better, and this is a 4 stage unit, and that the turbines are somewhat interchangeable, so this could be a good deal. On the other hand, I don’t want to get into a situation where I’ll be disappointed I didn’t just buy a new Fuji 2202.

thanks, Charles

I might be able to answer my own question for #2. Turns out the 4900 uses a non-bleeder gun, so the Apollo E7200 like a good replacement:
