So, I was passing through Atlanta and had time to make two expensive stops.
Peachtree Woodworking I had often looked at their online store and prices and really liked it but shipping was not cheap. I stopped today and spent sometime and $$$. The store was large and not crammed together. I bought several dust collection pieces. I got my new dust collector installed and new 6” pipe and blast gates installed. I am working to improve the collection at my machines and work areas. It was so nice to have a good selection of parts. They also had a lot of turning supplies. The store people were friendly and helpful.
Highland Woodworking This is a place I have wanted to visit for a long time and lived up to expectations. They had a great selection of Lie-Nielsen planes and you could pick them up and give them a good look. They also have a very good book selection, turning supplies, finishing supplies, band saw blades and much more. They have a bunch of helpful staff ready to answer questions. It is located in an older building and in a nice neighborhood. After a long time of looking and there was a great bar/restaurant next door.
If you ever have the time, these are two great places. However, Atlanta is one of the worst traffic places I have been with construction everywhere and backed up traffic everywhere. Thank goodness for my Garmin to get me out of there.
