I don’t normally build kitchens, but I have a project for my mother-in-law. The problem is on the countertop. There is a row of cabinets and on the left side there is a bar that is open on both sides. Where I have the problem is the different sizes of the counter tops. The cabinets have standard 25” top and the bar is a standard bar size of 36”. Since they are different sizes, when they cut the corners at 45 degree, there will be about 11” of the 25” side with no backsplash. The counter top is a Formica brand with the back splash built into the 25” countertop, the bar is rounded on both front and back. I thought about ordering an extra piece of countertop and cutting the back splash off and gluing it on the 11” spot. I could also stop it there but I don’t think it would look right.
