I’m about to purchase a Tormek T-7 and wonder what jigs and extras are really useful as you can double the price if you get most everything. For years I’ve managed with hand holding shaping on a high speed grinder and then finishing on whetstones. Most of my requirements are for 6 inches (my jointer) or less – chisels, plane irons, etc. Of course, I’d like to sharpen my disposable planer blades (Dewalt 750) but this would be a “nice to be able to do” feature rather than a necessity. I use a lathe but not that often. For kitchen knives I see no reason not to hand hold them against the wheel but maybe I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks for your input. -- Tom, New London, NH |
