Topic tags/keywords: grain wood maple id identification tree

Anybody know what type of wood this is? The table tops are sanded down and the wood is slightly softer than average if I had to guess. Think it might be maple, but I’m new to identifying wood grains. Thanks!

Teak, maybe mahogany, hard to say. Can you wipe an area with mineral spirits so we can see a lil better?

Is this naked wood we’re seeing here?
Or is there still a little finish on there?

Don’t think I have any mineral spirits, is there anything more common in could use perhaps? And it’s bare wood mcfly.
