Rant On..

I really get discouraged seeing all the pictures that are posted sideways or even upside down. If I am looking at the forum on a tablet or phone, I can not turn the device to see the photo as the device has auto rotate and when I turn it the pictures turn and still are wrong.

So many people just say, I do not know how this happened.

Well, thie answer is that when you take pictures on a phone mainly an iPhone, there are problems.

With minimal searching found some articles..

Why Does my iPhone take upside-down photos?

and

Why your iPhone Photos Are Upside Down & How to Fix That

I hope that folks will take the time and read the articles and try some things. I really do like to look at projects and blogs but not with pictures posted wrong. There are lots of other articles that address this topic with suggestions to fix the problem. Please….

Thanks…Rant Off

Besides looking at sideways / upside photos being annoying, it produces disorienting synaptic responses !

I ignore projects with sideways pictures. If the poster doesn’t care, why should I care.

Funny, that I just saw this post. I am not here and getting use to the system. For me, the pic on my phone and computer was fine, but when I uploaded a pic into my post, the forum software flipped the picture sideways. Any ideas on how to fix that?

Jwyant…..did you read the two links in the initial post?

What did you take the pictures with and what orientation?

This is a frustrating issue. I used MS software on my WIN10 computer to reorient and save the photos and they still are upside down and I simply cannot get them right… Because of this I have not been able to post my workbench… won’t embarrass myself with wrong orientation photos. My phone is an LGG3 not an I-Phone. Any suggestions…? I read the links… honestly don’t help.

When you reorient the photos, also resize them. Even if it’s just a little bit, it may relacate the embedded tag that tells devices how to orient the pic.

Thanks, I will try that and let everyone know how it goes.

Some may not even be aware that the picture they just posted is upside down.

I am surprised if they did not know. I always try to check my posts especially with pictures to see if they are OK. My biggest problems is spelling and auto correct problems.

The thumbnail preview is upside down… not really sure how they could miss it. Honestly I understand… you want to post and there is a problem and you just don’t have time to deal with it. I just can’t do it… too embarrassing.

Shouldn’t need to resize to fix orientation. What software are you using Tim?

Just Windows 10 Picture app… don’t have time now, but have Adobe PS Express and am going to resave using that to fix. Hoping for a final solution!

I’ve used PS on my phone and it works well. On my desktop I use Picassa.

Phones suck anyway, I know there handy but you can get an older camera that works great dirt cheap (computer ready) I don’t seem to have any problems then. Learned the importance of taking pics of hard wood floors as soon as I enter a home with the home owner watching, document every scratch. But yea I have a camera just for before and after pics. Technology baffles me anyway. I can use th sun and a yard stick to tell you how tall a tree is but cell phones their some sort of extraterrestrial xfiles crap to me.
