I have a Woodmaster Model 612 T that I was given that works great for planing wood, but doesn’t come with any optional attachments that I have seen with some others. The tabletop planer that I already had works great and is better suited for my small shop.
Can anyone tell me if this is worth using, or if I should try to sell it to make room in my shop? Thanks.

It just happens that I have been looking at woodmasters recently and since I live in Kansas City where they are located, I’ve had the opportunity to visit their location and ask lots of questions.

I think I have decided to purchase a new 718 but I looked at a used 612 prior to my decision on the 718. If I understand everything correctly, the 6XX models are no longer supported by Woodmaster in terms of purchasing accessories new from them. You would likely be able to find used parts and accessories online but that isn’t a guarantee.

With that being said, if you have the space for the 612, I would keep it and use it as a planer as it is superior to the “lunchbox” style portables. Even if you can’t find accessories, the price was right for a nice planer.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Neil,

Thanks for your input. I think I will hold onto it. I am just getting into woodworking, so I’m sure if I got rid of it, I’d regret it one day.

Have your say...
