Hello all,

I have the opportunity to get some 6/4 beechnut in decent quantity for cheap. I am currently on a cutting board kick and need to know if this wood would be good to use in a cutting board along with the rest of the standard hardwoods.

Beech is great, it’s dense and hard, and often has some ray flecks in the 1/4 sawn grain.

Many old wooden planes were Beech or Sycamore, which it kinda resembles.
