Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw tire

So i put this tire on my Delta 14” bandsaw. It is WAY smaller than the stock one. Notice the gaps on both sides of the tire and how it doesn’t even come close to filling the channel.

I looked on their website and this tire is the only one they make for a 14” bandsaw. This doesn’t seem right, as you can push the tire left and right in the channel. Anyone have experience with them?

Probably won’t matter as the blade should stay in the center. The wheel is taller in the center than on the outsides so you can adjust the blade tracking by tilting the wheel. The flat side of the blade should be riding in the center of the wheel.

Is the tire a uniform thickness across the width?

The Delta Bandsaws I have seen at Lowes with the OE tires, other than the tire is black, have that same gap. My HF has that same gap. I think it is supposed to be there that way. I could be wrong, but that is how I have always seen them.

Thanks for the replies. I went out and got a set of stock tires for it. I just like how they fit better. I got them on the other day and ran some walnut logs through it tonight (rough turning blocks) and they work great.
